Who We Are
We are a small editorial team, not a newsroom. Two people publish under their own names on this site and a handful of contributors work behind them on data collection, licence checks and proofing. Nobody publishes anonymously, and every review carries the byline of the person who ran the account.
Both of our named reviewers are based in the UK and bet as UK customers themselves. That matters more than it sounds: the deposit limits, identity checks and payout times we describe are the ones we meet on our own accounts, not the ones an operator quotes in a press release. Our team is deliberately narrow rather than broad, because every bookmaker on the site is tested by a person who has used it.

Our betting experts are not presented as tipsters. Neither of them sells predictions, and neither claims an edge over a bookmaker. What they bring is the habit of reading a price and a set of terms carefully, and the discipline to record what actually happened on an account rather than what was advertised.
What We Do — and What We Don’t
We publish independent betting site reviews and comparisons for UK players. In practice that means:
- Comparing bookmakers on eight weighted criteria, from licensing through to payout speed;
- Opening real accounts, depositing the minimum each site allows and requesting a withdrawal on every method offered;
- Checking each operator’s licence record against the Gambling Commission public register;
- Tracking welcome offers and their conditions, including wagering, minimum odds and excluded payment methods;
- Publishing guides on payments, odds, taxes and player protection.
There is a clear line around what we are not. We do not accept bets and never handle a stake. We do not hold player funds, process withdrawals or have any access to your bookmaker account. We do not sell tips, subscriptions or systems, and we do not guarantee that anyone will win money.
One distinction runs through the whole site and we would rather state it here than let you find it out later. Our main ranking of the best betting sites in the UK contains only bookmakers licensed by the Gambling Commission and signed up to GamStop. Offshore operators, including those marketed as non-GamStop, crypto or no-KYC sites, are covered on separate pages, labelled as offshore, and published with an explanation of the protections a player gives up by using them. We never present the two as equivalent, and an operator licensed in Curaçao or Anjouan is never described as UK-licensed. The criteria behind all of it are on the How We Rate page.
How We Stay Independent
We earn affiliate commission. When you follow one of our outbound links to a bookmaker and open an account, the operator may pay us a fee, and those links run through a `/go/` redirect so they are identifiable as commercial. That is how the site is funded, it is set out in full in How We Make Money, and it has no influence on the order of any ranking or the score any brand receives.
The separation that makes this work is a division of labour. Commercial partnerships are negotiated on the business side of the operation, and the people who negotiate them have no editing rights and no access to scores before publication. Reviews are written by the named reviewer, checked against primary sources, and approved by the responsible editor. No bookmaker sees a review before it goes live, and none can request a change to a score.
A bookmaker cannot buy a position, a rating or a favourable line on this site. It can ask us to correct a factual error, and we will if it is genuinely an error, through the process in our Corrections & Updates Policy. The full set of rules is in the Editorial Policy.
Our Commitment to Responsible Gambling
Betting is for adults only. Everything on this site is written for readers aged 18 or over, and we follow the spirit of the Gambling Commission’s requirements and the ASA and CAP Code approach to gambling advertising, including describing every offer with its conditions rather than its headline.
